Users of Facebook and Instagram are experiencing breakdowns on the platforms this morning, according to the Web Down Tracker Detector and many reports on Twitter. The judgments are still ongoing at the time of this report. The areas with the greatest problems appear to be the western and eastern coasts of North America and parts of Europe, although parts of South America and South-East Asia are also making mistakes.
Users who suffer the crash on Facebook say they can not access the site, while others say that the mailboxes are missing or that other parts of the site do not work correctly. Features like the Spotify link through Facebook have fallen this morning for some users. There were 12,000 reports of Facebook problems on the Down Detector site.
Instagram, which belongs to Facebook, had 2500 reports of problems. Users report that the platform is not loading, the photos are not being downloaded and the font cannot be updated.
Facebook said in a statement: “We are aware that some people currently have difficulty accessing Facebook and Instagram. We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
